Evidently, with the storm delays the night before, pilots had exceeded their hours and the delay was finding a new pilot in Minneapolis. There was a bit of angst, but the gate agent said that we would make our connection at JFK. It was extremely nice of Delta to furnish a snack and some water.
Finally, boarded the plane and we were in the air by 12:30.
Can I just say that JFK is one huge airport. I am so glad that we did not have to change terminals and only had to walk about 20 gates.
Other than extreme chaos in boarding the plane - What zone are you in? All went well and we charged the electronics for the overnight flight to Amsterdam.
The beverage service was excellent and the food wasn't too bad, either. Dinner was shrimp cocktail, a tossed salad, stuffed chicken breast, herbed mashed potatoes, roll butter, cheese, and a chocolate brownie. All this while watching Concussion. How Will Smith was not nominated for an Academy Award, I do not know.
Caught a bit of the struggling Buccos/Cubs game at JFK. Arrieta pulled his magic again as they lost 6-0.
See you on the other side of the pond.

Glad you finally made it out of the states. I was worried for you when I heard the forecast for Thurs. Looking forward to hearing about your travels.
