It was an early morning for a meeting that started at 8:00. There was a continental breakfast at Laird Hall, so that helped. First was the Finance Committee, then Student and Parent Relations. I love the fact that women can sit and discuss problems, brainstorm solutions and then come to a consensus.
There was a light lunch followed by an update on campus ministry by the new chaplain, Rev. Emily Morgan. She did a lovely job of introducing herself and the new vision she brings to the program.
After lunch we had the Heritage Committee meeting. This committee is especially interesting to me because, although Wilson is now coed, the traditions should live on. Good meeting followed by a reception in the Lenfest Commons.
Earle had gone to Hagerstown to see Star Wars and got back just in time to pick me up.
We headed back to the hotel for some down time. I was really tired from sitting all day. We then went back to the center of town. I headed to the Olympia Candy Kitchen for some of the delicious dinner mints for which they were famous only to find out they don't make them any longer. Very disappointed.
On to the square and the Café D'Italia where we met Leslie and George Hanks for a delicious Italian dinner. Needing to walk off some of the calories, we strolled along main street taking in the ice sculptures and galleries and stores that were open late because of IceFest weekend. The pictures were actually taken earlier in the day by Earle.
Back to the hotel to catch the last hour and a half of the SAG awards. Some surprises here - Alicia Vikander winning for Best Supporting and Spotlight for Picture. I hope that trickles over to the Oscars.
