The end of January and we haven't packed a suitcase yet. Our first little excursion is to Chambersburg for an Alumnae Association of Wilson College (AAWC) board meeting. We didn't have to be there until 7 p.m. so it wasn't a real hectic departure. Had a bit of snow on the turnpike until we hit Breezewood, but it was mostly clear and dry. Decided to try to avoid some of the mountains so we exited at Fort Littleton. We really only avoided a part of the mountain road, so will have to experiment for the next trip. The trip was just about 3 1/4 hours so not bad.
Our home for the weekend was the Hampton Inn - build those points for a free stay somewhere. Chambersburg has really developed into a crossroads with many chain restaurants and hotels. It is very different from the late 60s when I attended Wilson.
We had a chance to relax a bit in the hotel before heading to campus for a tour of the new library. Of course it was dark so we couldn't see the exterior, but were really impressed at the interior space. It is very inviting and modern while still keeping some of the charm of the old library. The old metal shelves have been painted and given a wooden cornice. There are flat screen TVs everywhere, a cafe, and even an art gallery.

After the tour we headed to the Copper Kettle Restaurant where we had a delicious dinner. The address has changed, but the food is just as good as when I was a student.
Back to the hotel and bed. Early meeting tomorrow.
